How does it work?
- Every Wednesday from May 15-November 20, you will either pick up a box of mixed produce at our Oregon City farm (located less than 10 minutes off I-205) or have a box delivered to your door (for an additional fee of $8/box). Each box is valued at $39, and offers a diverse mix that changes through the season. If you live in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Oak Grove, Jennings Lodge, Gladstone, Happy Valley, Clackamas, West Linn, Tualitin east of I-5, or anywhere in Southeast Portland, you are likely in our CSA delivery region. ** We are unable to deliver to some rural areas of Oregon City. Please check in with us before signing up if you are uncertain if you are in our delivery region.
- The produce in an every week share will be a diverse seasonal selection that is appropriate for 2 veggie loving adults that cook most nights, or a veggie loving family of 4 that cooks some nights. Every other week shares are also available for smaller households and those who cook less.
- CSA is a great option for people who love to cook creatively using a wide variety of produce.
- In the early weeks of the year the box value will be slightly smaller than the average weekly cost and also quite heavy on greens (kale, chard, arugula, lettuce etc), while in the peak of summer the value will be larger than the average weekly cost and more diverse.
- Members will be invited to explore and enjoy the farm during Wednesday afternoon pick up hours.

What does it cost?
Full Share with Wednesday afternoon farm pick up– $39 / week ($1092 for 28 weeks).
Every other week share with Wednesday afternoon farm pick up– $39 / week ($546 for 14 weeks).
Full Share with Home Delivery– $47 / week ($1316 for 28 weeks).
Every other week share with Home Delivery– $47 / week ($658 for 14 weeks).
You have the option of paying for the CSA (and all the add ons) with recurring payments. Basically you choose the recurring payment option in the shop and you will be charged on the weeks you receive your share. This is a great option for those who do not want to pay the whole cost of the CSA in one chunk.
Paying for CSA with SNAP
We are happy to be able to accept SNAP benefits for paying for our CSA shares! On top of that, Double Up Food Bucks gives SNAP recipients additional funds to reduce the cost of CSA by HALF! That means that half of the cost of the share is covered by your SNAP funds, and the other half is covered by Double Up Food Bucks. This includes delivery costs! Please make sure to choose a SNAP sign up option in the online store.
Portland Area CSA Coalition does the SNAP processing for us, and SNAP members will need to fill out additional paperwork.

Add Ons
We are partnering again with Kiyokawa Orchards for a fruit share add on. The share will include different tree fruits, starting with cherries, then peaches, then pluots, plums, apples, pears, and Asian pears. The shares will be quite heavy in apples and pears starting in September.
The fruit share runs 18 weeks from July 24-November 20.
The full cost of the every week fruit share (18 weeks) is $288 ($16/week).
The full cost of the every other week fruit share (9 weeks) is $144 ($16/week)

Canyon Creek Farm will be providing pasture raised chicken eggs as an add on for our CSA this season.
You can get eggs every week (28 weeks) or biweekly (14 weeks) alongside your veggie CSA share either delivered to your home or picked up at the farm.
Here is a message and some photos from Ashley and Austin about Canyon Creek Farm and their practices:
Hi! We are Austin and Ashley and we own Canyon Creek Farm, which is a small scale egg production company located on the outskirts of Canby, Oregon. Our chickens are fed NON-GMO, corn and soy free feed. They are also provided access to different pastures and forest areas every day from sunrise to sunset. In order to keep them safe, we lock them up at night in their mobile chicken tractors and let them out during the day to graze within our electric poultry netting paddocks. When the grass is eaten down within their paddocks, we move the chickens by moving their mobile tractors and rotating them to better pastures. In return, this helps allow the ground they were on to take a much needed break. The ground can then soak up the amazing fertilizer the chickens so graciously leave behind and take some time to replenish itself. We also continue this same cycle with our other animals by rotating them after one another. As farmers, we believe in not only doing right by the animals but also doing right by the land. We just want to help create a beautifully humaine, better quality of life for everyone or everything involved. It’s why we do what we do. Plus the eggs are pretty good too!
Brown Bottle farm will be providing mushrooms as an add on for our CSA this season.
Every Wednesday from May 15-November 20 (28 weeks) or every other Wednesday (14 weeks), you will get approximately half a pound of mushrooms from Brown Bottle Farm. The mushroom share will include oysters, black trumpet, lionsmane, and a few other varietals. The mushrooms will be either delivered to your home or for pick up at the farm alongside your veggie share. If you are a SNAP recipient, you can use SNAP funds to pay for a mushroom add on.

We are Anna Wilson-Falk and Ryan Falk of Brown Bottle Farm(BBF) a family mushroom, produce, and fermentation farm located in Mulino, Oregon. We started growing in 2016, and have been students of Mycology, the study of mushrooms, for over a decade. Our farm believes in beyond organic practices to benefit the people in our community and to grow the most healthful food. We never use synthetic chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides in our production or anywhere on the farm.
We find fungi fascinating and have cultivated and wild foraged more than 30 varieties of edible and medicinal mushrooms. We hope you’ll give them a try!

Common Questions
We try to fill up our shares as much as possible with tasty produce that is familiar to most folks (sugar snap peas, carrots, basil, tomatoes, summer squash, cucumbers, potatoes, lettuce, onions, garlic, broccoli etc). We offer a subscription to “Cook With What You Have” alongside your membership that has great advice and recipes for using unfamiliar (or new ideas for familiar ones !) vegetables in your share. At our on farm pick up location, we offer a “Swap and Extras Box” for you to switch out produce that you will not use with produce that you will use. It is also a place where we put extra produce for members when we have it, so it can sometimes be a great opportunity for families to get extra produce at no additional cost. Unfortunately, we are unable to have a swap option for home delivery customers.

As of right now, we are only able to offer the Kiyokawa Fruit Share as an add on. Out of Ashes Farm is no longer producing eggs, so we are on the look out for another egg partner. If we find a great egg partner, we will continue to offer eggs as as an add on. We will likely offer one time opportunities to buy in hazelnuts, and potentially fermented products, but we haven’t worked out the details on that yet.
YES. The best way to make the share accessible and affordable is to sign up for a subscription. You will only be charged the cost of the first share upon signing up and then will be charged a few days before receiving each of your boxes. If you are a SNAP recipient, SNAP and DUFB (Double Up Food Bucks) will cover half of the cost of the share! We also offer scholarships for those who need it, whether or not they are SNAP recipients. YES. At the beginning of the season, we offer farm tours during Wednesday pick up hours. We are hoping to have a member work party and potluck sometime in the year. We have an annual CSA Member Harvest Celebration event in September that is always lots of fun!
YES. We are willing to do partial or full trades. Please reach out to melissa@sunlovefarm.com if you have a trade in mind. Possible trades include coffee, bodywork, acupuncture, childcare, carpentry skills, tree work etc.
YES, but we don’t recommend it as a regular option. We will be harvesting and packing all of our shares this year on Tuesday for Wednesday pick up and delivery. If you let us know in advance, you can pick up your share at either one of the farmer’s markets that we attend, and the veggies will still be great, but know that they will not be quite as fresh as those picked up during regular CSA pick ups and deliveries on Wednesday.
Every year we try to fine tune our farm so we are better growing the produce that grows well here and that families want to use. The share will be somewhat similar to what we have offered in past years. 2023 shares were a great example of what ideal shares might look like- they were plentiful and over market value, and regularly had favorite items in them like berries, sweet corn, carrots, onions, melons, and lots of delicata squash.
Scholarship Fund
We are committed to continuing to work to make our food as accessible as possible. If you are unable to pay for the full cost of a CSA share, we have a Scholarship Fund to subsidize the cost of your share. This is available for both SNAP recipients and anyone else who qualifies. Please fill out this form if the scholarship fund could support you in getting a CSA share.

CSA Cancellation and Share Change Policy
Missing a Week
If you need to miss a week (or more) of the season for any reason, there are many options:
- Please let us know that you would like to miss a week by Sunday at 11pm (three days before your Wednesday pick up/delivery). If you do not let us know by then, we will harvest your box for you and you will be charged for it as usual.
- Twice per season, you can cancel your share and receive a refund for the week or you can receive Market Share credit for your share. $39 (pick up) or $47 (delivery) of Market Share Credit (can be used to pre-order out of the online store, and added on to future pick ups/deliveries or can be used at Oregon City or Milwaukie Farmer’s Markets and it never expires.)
- Any week, if you are signed up for every other week, your share can be switched to the next week
- Any week, if you are signed up for every week, you can get a double share on another week
- If you are signed up for farm pick up and can’t make a pick up, let me know! Pick up time can be flexible from Tuesday afternoon- Friday if necessary.
- You can always gift your share to another person! It can even be delivered to their home if you are signed up for delivery and they are in our delivery region.
Canceling Your Membership
When you sign up for a CSA share, you are making a commitment to receiving vegetables for the full season May 15-November 20, 2024. Knowing that folks are committed for the whole season helps us to plan for the year and early season sign ups give us needed capital to get the season started and to grow the food that will be harvested come summer (seed , labor, tools, and amendment costs start in January).
That being said, we know that life doesn’t always follow the plan. If you need to cancel your share altogether, please let us know 2 weeks in advance. There will be a $39 cancellation fee, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
A note from Farmer Melissa about why CSA matters
CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a huge support for farmers like me that make a living on vegetables, which are only in bounty for about 6-8 months of the year. When you sign up for a summer CSA during the winter or early spring, you are putting capital into the actual growing of the vegetables that will be ready later in the year. Even though most of the food is not ready to harvest in early spring, from February-May, I invest significant money into growing the food- buying seeds, potting soil, soil amendments, paying for labor and investing in infrastructure. Without the support of CSA members, I would have to go into debt each spring in order to make the necessary investments to grow summer and fall veggies. Thank you so much for considering making this investment in small-scale sustainable agriculture! It makes all the difference in keeping the farm alive and thriving.
